Podcast Episode 2: Adaptability - an overlooked skill?

PYLLON ULTRA POD: EPISODE 2

The journey into podcasting is one where we need to grow and adapt, and to make mistakes to get things right. The idea of doing something like this is a daunting one. We are open to criticism, we are vulnerable and in all honesty, the rhythm and themes of the pods going forward isn’t 100% clear in our minds yet. We have direction but not yet settled on a destination, and that is cool.

Even the structure of the shows is quite pliable. In many ways, not planning to the nth degree has actually started to prove to be a benefit.

And that’s the point in this week’s show where we talk about adaptability. The show is going to lead into a wider conversation from Paul’s experience of growing a business from scratch and the bold steps it took to make that step, and how he’s had to adapt to a rapidly changing market.

That’s three paragraphs down and we haven’t even mentioned running! This won’t be so unusual if you listen to our chats. These pods are about the ultra-life. Life being the operative word here. Running is part of life. As are friends, family and work and so many other factors. We firmly believe the stories and subjects we talk about apply beyond running and we hope the listeners take wider inspiration from what we talk about.

If just one person gets a benefit from the pods, then we will keep doing it. And your feedback will help us shape the shows going forward. We are here to stay!

In episode 2, the subjects range from skills v knowledge to the ‘can’t hurt me’ mindset. We talk about Jazz pianists, golf coaches and the difference between failure and intention. There’s also the power of a cookie and crisp combo in 24 hour racing to mention.

All of this is framed around that theme of adaptability, and how that is a skill that can be nurtured.

Oh, and there is an awesome competition that you will need to listen to find out more about.

Please help us spread the word by sharing the podcast via social media, jungle drum and smoke signal. Whatever works and if you can review, rate and subscribe it will help us greatly.

Also, if there is a subject you’d love to hear about or a listener’s question you have then drop us a line and we’ll add to our ideas board.

All the best from the Pyllon Ultra Pod team! Thanks for being with us. Here is Episode 2 of the Podcast or you can find it on your favourite Podcast app.
